The impressive structure, which measures 565 meters tall was built above the Nizhi river and connects the provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou, located in the southern region of China, informed the official television channel CCTV, according to Spanish daily ABC.

The Beipanjiang Bridge has a length of 1.341 meters and cost nearly one billion yuan ($144 million dollars).

The construction project was attended by over 1.000 workers and it was initiated by the Chinese Government in 2013.

The bridge was officially finished in September 2016.

This ‘element’ of infrastructure is part of a highway that connects the cities of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, and the city of Ruili in Yunnan.

The Chinese people has a motto: “Taller, grander, better”.  At least, that’s what their latest achievement of engineering look like.

Today, the gigantic bridge was put into operation in Qingdao Shandong province and it’s considered the longest bridge over a water in the world.

Construction of the bridge took three years, which is relatively short time for such a project, especially since we’re talking about China.

An army of engineers has used modern measurement technologies, which allowed them to build it on both sides simultaneously.

Of course, the costs were to match.

According to Telegraph, The Beipan river, over which the Beipanjiang Bridge carries traffic, is part of the great Pearl River basin. Because of its geography, the bridges that cross it tend to be remarkably high.
