European singers and athletes are the highest-paid celebrities of 2016

The boys from One Direction, Cristiano Ronaldo, and British singer Adele occupy the first three positions in the highest paid Europeans of 2016 top, each one of them grossing over 65 million pounds.


Pop group One Direction tops the ranking Europeans conducted by Forbes.


Although the band members – Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – have worked on separate projects in the recent months, the band reported gains of 89.9 million pounds in the last 12 months.


After the tour “On The Road Again”, Forbes also mentioned their extremely profitable contracts with Pepsi and Colgate.


Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo ranks second with 72 million pounds, while hitmaker Adele catapulted herself on the third position, reporting earnings of 65.8 million pounds since June 2015.


Regarding the world of tennis, two of the most awarded are also included in the Top 10.


Roger Federer is ranked fourth with 55.6 million pounds, while Serbian champion Novak Djokovic is the fifth with 45.7 million pounds.


The sixth position of the ranking was occupied by legendary band The Rolling Stones band with 54.3 million pounds followed by DJ Calvin Harris, who reported gains of 51.5 million pounds.


Sir Paul McCartney won this year’s 46.1 million pounds, while the Irish U2 earned 45 million pounds.


The tenth position of the shows top chef Gordon Ramsay with 44 million pounds.


Forbes calculated and compiled the ranking based on figures provided by Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, and IMDB as well as the interviews conducted by industry professionals and some interviews with the stars.
