Russia has taken a first visible step in reply to the sanctions announced by Obama administration and ordered to close an Anglo-American school in Moscow, as CNN transmitted.

The quoted source embraced the statement of a US official who stated that the Anglo-American school, located in the Russian capital was closed on Thursday, shortly after the United States of America announced the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats and President Barack Obama has adopted a number of measures against entities and individuals from Russia.

The Russian government has sent the order of closing the educational institution. The children of the diplomatic embassy staff from America, Canada and Great Britan studied there.

Also, by the same order, the Russian authorities have blocked the access to a holiday house near Moscow that was often enjoyed by US embassy staff.

The United States acted against Russia’s cyber piracy during the US presidential election campaign, as President Barack Obama said on NPR radio, on December 16, according to AFP.

The measures announced by US media include new economic sanctions and censoring Russian diplomats. In addition, Russia could also be targeted by cyber operations, even if Washington does not want to start an informatic war with Moscow.

The foreign ministry in Moscow declared the sanctions are ‘counterproductive’ and said they would harm the bilateral relations between the countries.

President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, said it is time for America to focus on other things after the White House announced the imposition of new sanctions against Russia.
