Il Corriere Della Sera claims that Anis Amri, the alleged author of the Berlin attack, planned to travel to Rome, but he wasn’t able to obtain train tickets, so he went to Milan, where he was shot by the authorities on December 23rd.

“In the Turin train station after arriving in France, he was shot twice cameras, while he was searching for information about trains that headed to Rome or Milan”, wrote the Italian newspaper.

“As a sign that he had no precise direction, he finally opted for a regional train to Lombardia, because at that late hour there was no train for the capital” continued the Milanese daily.

Several newspapers suggest that, after he arrived Milan on December 23rd at around 02:00 Anis Amri met a young Salvadoran. He asked the tourist “from where he can take a train or a bus to Rome, Naples”.

Sesto San Giovanni, a town north of Milan, where he was killed Anis Amri, was the starting point for the attacks he was planning to conduct in Spain, Morocco, Albania and Southern Italy.

According to the Italian media,  Anis Amri lived for several weeks in Aprilia (40 km south of Rome) at one of his compatriots in Lampedusa. The man is currently in prison.

More searches were made, especially in homes where he has hosted a year ago.

Before fleeing to Germany in July 2015 Anis Amri arrived in Lampedusa in 2011, spent four years in prison for burning a school in Sicily and may have established some lasting contacts with other prisoners.

The ongoing investigation regarding the criminal bombing in Berlin that left 12 dead and dozens injured, will clarify many points of a possible existence of an Islamic support network in Italy.
