One of Barack Obama’s former political opponents was diagnosed with a brain tumor

AFP made the sad announcement that senator of Arizona John McCain suffers from a severe form of brain cancer.

The former military official, prisoner in Vietnam, one of Putin’s most acid critics and former presidential candidate found out about the cruel diagnosis during an intervention to remove a blood clot located near his left eye.

The doctors knew something is wrong and they sent a sample to the medical lab, where the biologists identified a malignant tumor that will probably require numerous sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

“The doctors said the senator is currently recovering from the surgery and his overall condition is excellent”, revealed one of Mayo Clinic’s representatives.

In the past, the Arizona senator was diagnosed with another form of cancer, a melanoma that has cured with treatment.

His age and health represented one of the most controversial subjects of the 2008 presidential campaign when he was defeated by Barack Obama.

Shortly after his battle with the brain tumor was made public, the former president was among the first to react to the sad news.

President Donald Trump also left aside the animosities and mentioned in a press release, that the senator was “always a combatant.”

Another fellow politician who rushed to wish her best to John McCain was American Senator Hillary Clinton.
