The Buckingham Palace has issued an official communiqué announcing the date when Prince Philip will honor his last royal duty

After this, Queen Elizabeth’s husband will withdraw from the public life and he will only appear at extremely important family events.

According to the official data, the Duke of Edinburgh will attend his last social event on August 2, at the Captain General’s Parade.

The event is set to take place at the Buckingham Palace, where Prince Philip will serve as the general captain of the Royal Navy, a position he has occupied for 64 years.

The event is meant to mark the withdrawal of the Duke of Edinburgh, but the Palace will take advantage of the occasion in order to raise some funds for the Royal Marines Charity.

During the parade, there will be a march, a royal salute and three cheers for the general captain.

The British Royal House announced that this will be Philip’s last royal duty, but he may choose to appear from time to time in public in the company of his wife.

“His Eminence, the Duke of Edinburgh, has decided to withdraw from public life by fall.

In his decision, the Duke benefited from the Queen’s total support”, an official communiqué suggested in May.

From 1952, Prince Philip attended no less than 22.219 royal solo duties and other 637 state visits.

Under his patronage, 785 organizations were founded, all of them now managed by Kate, William, and Harry.
