The Nevada authorities have decided on Thursday night granted the probation to former US football player O.J Simpson after he spent the last nine years behind bars after he was found guilty of an armed robbery in Las Vegas.

O.J Simpson has recently turned 70 and he will be released in October, shortly after he will leave the Nevada detention center.

“Juice”, as he was known during his glory period, spent nine years in prison despite the fact he was sentenced to 33 years behind bars, after being convicted in 2007 for kidnapping and armed robbery in a hotel from Las Vegas.

This was not OJ’s first media scandal

In 1995, O.J was acquitted after he was accused of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.

“The process of the century,” as it was called, sparked a major controversy at that time in the United States.

Former American football star was described by the authorities as a model detainee from the mid-life security facility in Lovelock, situated in the Nevada desert.

“Simpson stayed out of trouble here. I have not heard of him”, revealed a spokesman of the Nevada detention center.
