A British woman urges an airline to apologize after she was interrogated by an anti-terrorism group for several hours

Faizah was labeled as “suspicious” after the staff noticed that she is reading a Syrian book about art, writes BBC News.

Faizah Shaheen was handed over to the authorities by the crew from Thomson during the flight for Turkey without caring that she and her husband were on their honeymoon.

The incident occurred in 2016 and, so far, she hasn’t received anything from the company, which she is planning to sue in the near future.

On the other hand, Thomson defends its image by claiming their employees are taught to report to the authorities any matter or concern they have in terms of flight safety.

Faizah Shaheen was reading a book in Arab which included images, songs, literature, and animations created by Syrian artists.

She was pulled in a corner by the British police when she returned home, in the UK, two weeks later.

Faizah is Muslim and works as a social assistant in a mental facility where she tries to identify the early stages of radicalization in youngsters.

Both Faizah and her husband were questioned for hours in the Doncaster Airport, where they responded to questions about the book they read on the plane, the foreign languages they are currently speaking and their jobs.

The woman says she has no claim in terms of financial compensation and that this is not the reason she has decided to sue Thomson Airways.

Instead, she wants the company’s representatives to apologize and acknowledge that she was discriminated.
