The frozen bodies of two persons, a man and a woman, who went missing 75 years ago, were discovered in a glacier in the Swiss Alps, Euronews reports.

The couple – Marcelin and Francine Dumoulin – disappeared on August 15, 1942, after they left to mow the cows on a meadow near Chandolin, located 120 kilometers from the capital of Berna.

The two did not return, and their children now tell how many desperate efforts they made to find their parents.

“We’ve spent our entire lives looking for them. We wanted to make a proper funeral”, said their youngest daughter, who is 79-years-old now.

The Valais police have announced the remains of two persons have been discovered by a tourist near a melting glacier at an altitude of 2.615 meters.

The DNA tests are now under way, although the police have said they also found identity documents.

“The man and the woman were found next to each other, they were dressed in World War II clothes, they were perfectly preserved in the glacier, and everything they had on them is still intact”, said Bernhard Tschannen, the director of the company’s of telecasters from the area.

It is supposed that the two fell into a glacier’s crevasse and stayed there until the melting of the glacier brought them out.
