Tragedy: Plane crash in Colombia kills 75

A plane crashed in Colombia this morning. Among the 72 people on board, the Chapecoense football team was traveling abroad.


UPDATE 11.03: Officials in Colombia announced they have suspended the searchings, due to the massive rains.


‘The search and rescue operations of the airplane with the Chapecoense team on board are suspended due to heavy rain’, announced an official of the Medellin airport on social media.


UPDATE 11.00: The police chief, Gen. José Acevedo Ossa, announced that that the total number of the victims is 75 and there are only six survivors.


UPDATE 10.55: Former CFR Cluj player, Rafael Bastos is stable. On October 11, the Brazilian footballer transferred to Chapecoense Hatta Club.


UPDATE 10.50: According to official figures, so far 25 people were recovered from the wreckage, five of whom are still alive.


UPDATE 10.35: The Confederation of South American Football has announced the suspending of all activities until further notice. Immediately after hearing the terrible news, CONMEBOL president, Alejandro Dominguez, flee to Medellin.


UPDATE 10.30: According to some sources, the pilot managed to rescue some people after the plane emptied its tanks. On the other hand, there are voices claiming the accident occurred due to a technical problem.


UPDATE 10.12: Intervention teams arrived at the scene and found alive three football players: Jakson Follmann, Alan and Danilo Ruschel. They were transported to the emergency hospital San Juan de Dios in Medellin.


UPDATE 10.00: Immediately after she found out that Alan Ruschel is alive, the wife of the footballer reacted immediately on a social networking site. ‘Thank you, God!’.
