Moroccan TV network teaches women how to cover bruises

A Moroccan TV network has apologized after they broadcasted a TV material in which they advised women how to hide the signs of domestic violence with makeup, reports BBC News.


TV network Channel 2M sparked a wave of criticism after it was aired last week. The show featured a clip in which women are advised how to hide their bruises with makeup.


In addition, the channel admitted that the material was ‘completely out of place’. The reaction of the TV network came after many people have criticized this segment and they even launched a petition, in which the required sanctions against the television station.


During the show produced in Sabahiya, a makeup artist is filmed while she is covering traces of bruises with foundation and other cosmetic products.


‘We hope these beauty tips will help many of you to continue your life’, said the host of the show. Meanwhile, the recording was deleting from the official website of the TV channel.


The reaction was harsh and immediate. A group initiated a petition signed by hundreds of women, who want the station to apologize publicly and to be sanctioned, including male viewers who reacted on social networks.


Despite the fact, the issue was removed from their website the clip can be found on social media.


Meanwhile, the TV network wanted to make a ‘clarification’ on its Facebook page, conveying the show on 23rd November was ‘completely inappropriate’ and the subject was an ‘editorial error’.
