Venezuela is going through a severe economic crisis. Despite the fact his citizens are lacking from basic things in life, President Nicolas Maduro is dancing salsa in TV shows.

‘People say I’m crazy because I dance salsa but even Barack Obama danced, and he is not crazy, he is brilliant.’, declared Maduro during an interview. Shortly after he made these statements  the state leader started to dance ‘Cilita la Bonita’ with his wife Cilia Flores.

‘Hands up all those of you who dance salsa! We all declare ourselves crazy!’, added Maduro.

On Wednesday Maduro has celebrated its 54th birthday at El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico concert.

Certainly, his good mood contrasts with the critical situation of this country that entered into a crisis after the collapse of oil prices: every day, people sit for hours in queues to buy supplies becoming desperate by the economic situation which affects 80% of the food and medicines industry.

The last drop for his citizens was the last official announcement made by the chief. Nicolas Maduro revealed that he will present a two-hour show about salsa. He talked about his future television show recounting the history of this exciting Caribbean style without hesitating to dance.

This communication strategy irritates his opponents: ‘It’s ridiculous. We feel offended.’, claims Euro Bermudez.

‘Instead of spending the national budget on these shows he better consider on commercializing better drugs.’, added the man.

On the Venezuelan social media, netizens are mocking every single picture with Maduro while he is dancing salsa.
