Apparently, your smartphone reveals some information about your real character. A new study conducted by researchers from the University of Lincoln and the British University of Lancaster, suggests that iPhone users are more dishonest and superficial than people using mobile the Android operating system.

The researchers reached this conclusion after interviewing 530 people between 2015 and 2016. The participants of the study were asked a series of questions about their phones and a few things about them.

“In comparison to Android users, we found that iPhone owners are more likely to be female, younger, and increasingly concerned about their smartphone being viewed as a status object. Key differences in personality were also observed with iPhone users displaying lower levels of Honesty–Humility and higher levels of emotionality.”, said one of the specialists.

Further information showed that iPhone users are younger, more extroverted and more willing to look at their smartphone as a status symbol. On the other hand, Android users are older, more humble and tend to consider a smartphone a necessary tool in the everyday life. Researchers showed that iPhone is preferred by women, while men are more attracted by the Android.

Based on the built statistical model, in 70% of cases researchers can tell what type of phone someone owns after they ask him a few questions.

According to the researchers, the purpose of the study was to develop a reliable model for predicting what phone people had.
