Apple might give up on using the metal frame for the iPhone 8, making possible the wireless charging of the battery.

Although the wireless charging function is available in some smartphone models with metal frame, the proper implementation is a challenge. The potential problems that could emerge during his experiment are various and these issues are better to be avoided by Apple, especially in the case of such a coveted smartphone as iPhone 8.

According to some sources inside, Apple and its partners from China are planning to replace the metal design used until now with a glass casing.

The disclosures published by MacRumors, citing information from KGI Security analyst Ming Chi Kuo suggested that the upcoming iPhone might be equipped with an OLED screen from Hon Hai and  wilress power supplier from Pegatron. Both companies are traditional Apple suppliers.

According to other rumors launched by Japanese publication Nikkei, Apple will launch three iPhone models in 2017. Two of the new models have the same screen as the iPhone series launched in July, while the third one will have an OLED 5.5″ screen.

For now, it is quite unclear if the functionality of the Wireless Charging function will be present in all three models or just in the case of the iPhone version with OLED screen.

Kuo last week claimed that Apple will release 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model iPhones with LCD screens as well as an all-new OLED model with a dual-lens camera.
