UEFA says the Europa League final does NOT represent a potential target for terrorists

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced on Tuesday, shortly after the bloody attack from Ariane Grande’s concert, that there is no information suggesting the European League final between Ajax and Manchester United could represent the next target of the terrorists.


“UEFA is in shock after last night’s assault from Manchester. Our thoughts are with the victims and the families of those affected.


There is currently no information suggesting that any of the UEFA Europe League activities in Stockholm could represent a potential target for terrorists.


UEFA has worked closely for several months with the Swedish authorities and the Swedish Football Federation and the risk of a terrorist attack was taken into consideration since the beginning.


In addition, several security measures have been implemented after the attacks in Stockholm”, suggested a press release published on Tuesday on UEFA’s official website.


The European Force requires fans to head towards the stadium as early as possible


“Considering all the security procedures, UEFA urges fans to head towards the stadium as soon as possible because the authorities will conduct in-depth checks at the entries and the stadium access will be delayed stadium”, added a UEFA official.


The final, between Ajax Amsterdam and Manchester United, will take place at 21:45 on Wednesday in Stockholm.
