French tennis player Maxime Hamou was disqualified from the Roland Garros tournament after he repeatedly tried to kiss a journalist during an interview


Maxime Hamou, ATP’s No. 287 was eliminated from Roland Garros after he attempted several times to kiss Eurosport / TF1 correspondant Maly Thomas.


The incredible scene occurred shortly after Hamou lost the match with Gustavo Cuevas (Uruguay) during the first round of the French Open.


Immediately after the game, the 21-year-old athlete appeared in the interview section to comment the game.


However, the situation quickly degenerated


While journalist Maly Thomas was asking him some things related to the game he just lost, Hamou grabbed the journalist by the neck and tried to make out with her.


‘If this wasn’t a live broadcast, I’d have punched it’, revealed Maly Thomas for Huffington Post.


The French Tennis Federation opened an investigation and also announced Hamou’s disqualification.


‘The tournament took Maxime Hamou’s accreditation and opened an investigation’, stated FFT in a press release.


Shortly after the incident the French player presented his sincere apology


The sports channel also apologized to its viewers.


“We sincerely regret the incident. The interviewee’s actions were inappropriate and we do not agree with such behavior”, suggested the press release published by Eurosport on social media.
