The first robot police officer in the world will be activated in Dubai on Wednesday
The automaton will be able to detect people’s faces while comparing them with a database and the most efficient part is that citizens can use the robot to report defaults and pay fines.
The real-life Robocop can operate in several international languages and the Dubai law enforcements hope these robots will represent at least one quarter from the total force by 2030.
“Robocop” was unveiled during a security conference in Dubai and its set to patrol the streets of the world’s most famous Emirate by the end on May.
However, the government’s main purpose is to transforms these bots into the perfect replacements for the current forces of law.
Robocop is currently moving with a pair of wheels, he greets, leans and speaks several foreign languages.
Moreover, the autonomy also recognizes a series of hand gestures and constantly carries a tablet on his chest.
Although doesn’t seem as cool as the famous film character, these robot cops are going to handle not-so-significant tasks, which although they are not very important, they still require time.
IBM and Google both contributed to the designing part
Dubai government officials revealed the goal is to completely automate half of the existing police stations by 2030.
Local order forces are also planning to create a DNA database.
