Serena Williams beats sister Venus in an epic game, establishing a new record on the way.

During the finals at the Australian Open, in Melbourne, the two sisters competed against each other.

The contest took place on Saturday.

The game was close, but the youngest one managed to defeat.

The match ended with the following scores: 6-4, 6-4. Serena won the game in just 82 minutes.

This win marked her 23rd Grand Slam, therefore establishing a new record. Serena is officially the best Tennis player in the world.

Even though she lost, Venus is happy and proud of her sister. “Your win has always been my win,” said the 36-year-old to her younger sister.

During their speeches following the contest, they both praised each other. “I want to congratulate Venus, she is an amazing person and there’s no way I would be at 23 without her,” said the 35-year-old, while she also thanked her sister. Serena admitted the game was really tough.

Serena established yet another record, by being the oldest player to win a Grand Slam tournament in the opens. She won seven titles at the Australian Open in her whole career.

As the game came to an end, the sisters hugged each other.

Serena’s fiancée, Alexis Ohanian, was in the public, supporting her. As she won, he celebrated standing up.

The record of most titles was previously held by Steffi Graf, with 22. Although she has 23, Serena still has one more win to beat the all-time best of 24 held by Margaret Court.

The two sisters played against each other in nine major finals. Serena beat Venus in seven of them.
