Nearly 2,000 persons floated simultaneously while holding hands on a salt lake in Argentina.

Argentina setting a new world record

Nearly 2,000 persons grabbed each other’s hands on Monday, floating on a salt lake in Argentina, setting a world record for the largest number of people floating in the water together.

Some representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records certified that 1,941 people floated in a human chain, simultaneously, for 30 seconds, on Epecuen lake in southeastern Buenos Aires.

The salt water of Epecuen kept the participants on its surface for a couple of seconds.

Thus, they floated freely, holding hands, as you can see in a video released by the local authorities.

The previous similar record was set on the Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan. At that time, 650 people gave their hands and floated on the surface of the lake, aided by swimming accessories.

Other downright wacky records

In 2013, a total of 1,213 people has reached a world record by applying a facial mask for 10 minutes and standing still.

Another crazy record happened when people gathered for the biggest crowd where all the participants were dressed in sumo suits.

Or, similarly, the biggest puzzle in the world made of tents that formed a Chinese dragon was settled on a beach in China.

Another bizarre record was established in 2012, when a man succeeded in training 13 dogs to jump the rope in synchronicity.

A young lady from California has the longest tongue in the world, measuring 9 centimeters.

Or, the biggest collection of dwarves in the world, summing about 1,061 pieces.
