On Monday, a petition against the American president Donald Trump emerged in the United Kingdom. In just a little time, more than 1 million people signed it.

This is an answer to the racist move he has made, banning immigrants that are mostly Muslims to come in the US.

Following the petition, the government will have to debate it. The fact that the number of signatures is so high is what enables the debate to take place.

It is mentioned in the petition that Trump’s visit to the UK would “cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.”

Furthermore, the petition points towards Trump’s misogynistic and vulgar attitude. His presence is not wanted in the country.

A lawyer wrote the petition last year.

In spite of the high number of people signing it and the debate, Trump will still come.

In his meeting with Prime Minister Theresa May from last week, Trump was invited to meet the queen.

The foreign secretary of UK, Jeremy Corbin, weighed on the matter of immigration after talking with US officials. “We will protect the rights and freedoms of UK nationals home and abroad. Divisive and wrong to stigmatise because of nationality,” he declared.

The decision only implies seven countries, while people from other countries are welcomed in the states.

May, who visited Trump on Friday, got a lot of remarks for not intervening in the executive order the American president signed.

Her office responded and said that these matters should be a preoccupation for only the US government. UK should not interfere. They added that this decision is not to their liking.
