If you need a pair of glasses to assist you in every situation, Carlos Mastrangelo might help you.

The Utah-based engineer invented world’s most intelligent glasses after he reported serious sight deficiencies at 50-years-old.

Carlos became frustrated because his far sight was perfect, but when it came to extremely close details or objects, his sight was completely damaged.

The electrical engineer decided to solve this issue alone, by creating a unique product.

The glasses were exposed to CES and their lens automatically brings into focus the object you’re targeting, even if the object is far or close.

In this way, the patients who suffer from presbyopia can wear their glasses constantly.

This accessory uses a distance sensor, placed between its lens, which functions as infrared light to calculate the distance between the glasses and an object.

Then, the sensor commands the liquid lens to change its curvature.

According to The Verge, the new product requires less 14 seconds to change its focal distance.

In addition, the rechargeable battery placed in its frame has a 24-hour life.

Its design is not exactly… modern or fashion-friendly but Mastrangelo and his collaborator Nazmul Hasan are working to create a more appealing version.

The next generation of glasses will possess the capability of following the wearer’s eyes, to understand better in what direction he will change his sight.

The engineer believes his product will hit the market in two or three years and their price will range between $500 and $1.000 dollars.

Although the price is a little bit eye-popping, the inventor believes his product is 100% worthy.
