The London police is currently investigating a stealing case at the Grenfell Tower, after a group of thieves stole money from various apartments destroyed by the fire, writes CNN.

During a press conference the police said there were three other potential thefts and took advantage of the occasion to apologize, because despite the non-stop security, the thieves have somehow gained access to the property.

“I thought the 24/7 security would be enough, but apparently it was not. I apologize for this”, said Detective Inspector Fiona McCormack from the Metropolitan Police in London.

McCormack failed, however, to mention the exact amount of money they have manage to take, but she admitted it was a considerable one.

The offenses were reported by the owners, who were allowed to enter in the less damaged flats from the lower floors of the building to gather their assets and to collect some of their most valuable objects.

Inspector Chief Inspector Matt Bonner said the investigation could lead to allegations of murder, but a decision will not be adopted anytime oon due to the complexity of the investigation.

These cases of stealing are quite common when it comes to fires

These thieves are not afraid of anything, despite the fact that the flames were extinguished completely a few hours before their arrival.

A building like the Grenfell Tower, inhabited by businessmen or wealthy families represents a literal gold mine for these guys.
