McDonald’s is currently facing a series of allegations spread all over social media which suggest that employees are taught how to place less fries into a large box, writes Independent.

In the middle of a very intense discussion on Reddit, one of the users asked a former McDonald’s employee the following:

“What did your employer ask you to hide from customers?”

“I worked at McDonald’s and they taught me to squeeze the fries box while I am filling it, so it would look full, but it was really not”, revealed the former McDonald’s staff member.

He even wrote that during his time there, no one except one vigilant customer have noticed the trick:

“He removed the fried potatoes from the box and put them back. The box was only half filled, so I had to give him more fries.”

However, this user was not the only one who noticed the trick.

“I have always hated this practice and I refused to do it”, commented one.

“I was not fired, but some customers were asking me when my turn was in order to get the right portion of fried potatoes,” he concluded.

Another person who stepped into the discussion revealed that he was making huge efforts to fill the glasses of juice and put more topping on the ice cream.

Obviously, McDonald’s has rejected the accusations from Reddit.

“We believe these statements are false, there are no secret tricks, or more stringent operational procedures to make sure that fried potato portions are the right ones”, a spokesman said.

“Without a confirmed source, we cannot investigate this”, added the representative.

“Our employees are working hard to make sure our customers have the best possible experience in our restaurants and strongly reject any claims that suggest otherwise”, concluded McDonald’s.
