In the last seven years, the “Game of Thrones” series was nominated at the Emmy’s for at least 110 times, winning a total of 38 trophies.

This year, however, the world’s most watched TV series didn’t score any nomination.

Apparently, the reason why we didn’t hear anything about GOT was not because the show is not good anymore, but because the last season did not fit within the time required to qualify at the 2017 edition, writes People.

In order to be nominated at the Emmy’s, a show must start airing between June 1, 2016 and May 30, 2017.

The previous GOT seasons began in April, so they were eligible, in comparison to this year’s season, which started airing on July 17th.

This year’s biggest Emmy winners were “Saturday Night Live” (NBC), “The Handmaid’s Tale” (Hulu) and “Big Little Lies” (HBO).

Alec Baldwin was awarded for portraying president Donald Trump so remarkably well, while the “Big Little Lies” series received, among other distinctions, the trophy for the best miniseries.

The adaptation made by Hulu to the novel signed by Margaret Atwood – “The Handmaid’s Tale” – was nominated for the “Best Drama Series”.

Elizabeth Moss received the award for Best Leading Actress, Hulu becoming the first streaming platform to win the big prize from the Emmy’s.
