Maybe the subject seems funny or weird for most people, but, in this world, there are persons who are allergic to fitness or any type of exercising.

Lucky for you, there’s an explanation for that

The most eloquent example is Joe O’Leary went to grab lunch with his parents.

The family shared a pizza with tomatoes and peppers and then, Joe went to the gym.

After half an hour he began to feel weird. “My eyes were wet, I had breathing problems. The next five minutes I struggled to breathe. I looked in the mirror and my eyes were swollen, each side of my face was swollen”, revealed the American for PopSci.

He had an allergic reaction and the situation was clarified at the hospital.

Specifically, he experienced an effort-induced anaphylaxis episode, an allergen triggered by exercise or certain food products.

In other words, the combination of tomatoes, soybeans, walnuts, and exercise, triggered a nightmare.

Anxiety induced anaphylaxis was first described in 1979 and is believed to affect one in 2.000 people.

It is still unclear what causes the connection between exercise and anaphylaxis.

There are a number of theories about the mechanism, related to the physiological changes that occur in the body during exercise.

Increased blood flow could push the sensitive immune cells into the body or maybe certain proteins in the intestine change their behavior during exercise, interacting with certain food products in ways that could cause an allergic reaction. But these are only theories, for now.
