Brad Pitt’s grandmother, Betty Russell, died without her fulfilling her very last wish: to see her nephew for the last time before she passes away.

The 95-year-old woman, known as “Meema,” spent her last years in a nursing home in Shawnee, Oklahoma, away from her family.

Pitt’s grandmother died at the age of 95, on September 14, in a local hospital, while her nephew was nowhere to be found.

In fact, the actor has completely forgotten her in the past 10 years, leaving her in a nursing home without paying any visit or a phone call.

It turns out that Brad is not so close to his relatives, and now, after the scandal with Angelina he has isolated completely.

In 2012, one of Brad’s aunts, Mary Ann Lanier, declared the actor failed to pay a visit in the last 10 years.

The same aunt spoke about Betty Russell’s desire to keep in touch with Brad: “He misses him. He does not write, does not seem to keep in touch with her. I’m sure he’s busy, but I do not know why he’s not in touch, at least with his grandmother. She has not heard a word from him for a long time. The last time he came to see her was the spring before the twins [Knox and Vivienne] were born [in 2008], it was around the birthday of our grandmother”, added Mary Ann.

  1. Sadly I can understand both Brads love of his grandmother and his not visiting her. I had dying parents and a loving sister taking 'unpaid leave' from her gov't job to take care of them when one then the other died (married 50 years, VERY common deaths occur both within the same year even though 3 years age difference where statistically mom should have lasted 4+3= 7yrs after dad!
Mostly sad about my sister... serious health nut to the end, so much so that she started to blame her regular bland near zero fat diet... no one but her could have been so dedicated to her health (she got licensed as an accupunturist/nutritionist thinking she'd like to help others after she retired! Sadly, never had the chance!
