Romania has dealt this days with major protests, that spread in several cities. The protest is the biggest once since the anti-Communist one from 1989.

The reason why the Romanians chose to protest is because of the prime minister and the party that won the referendum from last year, PSD.

More than 300,000 people gathered across the country, with about 150,000 of them only in Bucharest.

On Wednesday was the largest protest. Others will take place tonight.

On Thursday, a minister resigned after the situation.

The European country has been dealing with a severe political crisis that seems to have people tired of it. The level of corruption is way too much to take.

Florin Jianu, the Minister of Business Environment, is the one to quit. “I don’t want to have to tell my child I was a coward and I agreed to something I don’t believe in,” said the minister.

The government in Romania has been changed for three times in two years. Last month, the Social Democrats won the referendum again. People are disappointed by the results and don’t want to see them in charge again.

Even the president, Klaus Iohannis, expressed his disapproval over the party. The leader of the Social Democrat party is linked in several lawsuits and has a history of corruption.

The national currency is also experiencing a decline. Its value decreased more than the last two years.

The newest law is about prisoners and how they shouldn’t spend more than five years imprisoned. Citizens want to see a change in the country and the party that ruled for the last 28 years to be finally not in charge.
