A court from Pakistan banned Valentine’s Day all across the country, including the capital of Islamabad.

All kind of festivities or events organized to promote this holiday are punished by law, informs CNN.

Even though love birds from all around the world expect this joyous day to celebrate love, the young generation from Pakistan treats 14th February like any other day.

According to Dawn, the Pakistan authorities took the decision after a man initiated the most disturbing petition.

The document mentions Valentine’s Day promotes immorality, nudity, and indecency.

His petition was turned into an executive order and came into force immediately.

The executive order bans any commercial linked to this holiday. Commercializing any merchandise related to Valentine’s Day it’s also forbidden.

In the last decade, Valentine’s Day became extremely popular in several cities of Pakistan.

However, some religious groups labeled the holiday as immoral.

This is the first when the major decision is being taken by the capital of the country.

In addition, the ban comes a year after Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain said Valentine’s Day must be avoided.

According to him, the holiday is an Occidental tradition and it’s not a part of their culture.

For example, the administration of Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ordered the authorities to keep an eye on the shops that commercialize postcards and Valentine’s Day souvenirs.

Also, a conservative newspaper described this holiday a promiscuous festivity and a contradiction of their Muslim values.
