Underground nightmare: at least ten people died in a mine explosion

Terrible explosion in a mine in China. At least ten people died and four others were injured on Tuesday after an explosion occurred in a coal mine on the Chinese territory.

According to the Associated Press, the blast occurred in Zoubau mine in Hunnan province.

Eight miners had escaped from the underground terror.

Out of these, one presented severe wounds all over his body.

The information was issued by a press release coming directly from the Administrative department for Safety Work Environment.

The Chinese officials did not specify the causes that led to the blast.

However, the mine was framed between two of the highest gas concentration areas in the underground space, writes news.com.

In most cases, the explosions, which occur due to the accumulation of gas in mines, are caused by a flame or spark.

Normally, the airing systems should evacuate the gas excess from the mines.

The underground is unsafe.

China is the largest fabricator and user of coal in the world. Every year, hundreds of people die because of the poor safety conditions in the mines.

The authorities have admitted that the basic underground maintenance is often ignored.

The Chinese officials say they have closed many of the old mines.

Also, they reduced the number of working days to improve the safety conditions and decrease the air pollution levels that suffocate many Chinese cities.

These measures could lead to an increase in the energy prices in a period of economic slowdown. For this reason, the authorities are reluctant to apply these decisions in a very restrictive manner.
