The actress, who has been involved in numerous humanitarian acts with refugees, opened up about president Donald Trump’s ban.

In an interview with The New York Times, Jolie said what she thinks of this ban.

She asks the American citizens to show compassion during this time and fight for the human rights.

“I’m proud of our country’s history of giving shelter to the most vulnerable people. Americans have shed blood to defend the idea that human rights transcend culture, geography, ethnicity and religion,” declared the 41-year-old.

Jolie, herself, knows the struggles of having someone from a foreign country enter the US. Three of her six children are adopted from different countries and bringing them to the states wasn’t easy.

The procedures of seeking asylum are already very complicate. She thinks that Trump, through his ban, only makes it worse.

The president claims that the borders should be more secured, but Jolie believes that they are already too many procedures that ensure that.

The actress worries that the ban will affect the whole globe. She thinks this could lead to a major movement, “more instability, hatred and violence.”

Angelina also points that taking out on weak does not make anyone stronger.

The 41-year-old has been involved for a long time in humanitarian acts, she has visited refugees camps and helped those in need. She knows the struggle these people go through. Having her children adopted from such countries means so much more to her.

She is not the only artist that fought against the ban. Since Trump signed the order on January 27th, many responded.
