An exhibition will allow you to see some of the most remarkable fashion items from the late Princess Diana’s collection.
As twenty years have passed since her sudden death, people feel the need to commemorate her. One of the things that Diana did best is fashion. She was a true icon of the 20th century with a remarkable fashion sense.
Diana’s choices were always sending a message. From showing Princes Charles what he lost and to formal dressing.
The exhibition will be held by the Historic Royal Palaces. Her clothes will be available in a couple places: from the Kensington palace to her home in London. There will be 25 items exposed in total.
The curator that took care of the outfits for the exhibition declared that these items made her feel like she knew the princess. Each item reflects her mood when she wore it and reflects the fashion of that time. The outfits also hide some secrets, like the emerald green dress made from velvet that has her two son’s fingerprints.
An auction will also be held. Some of her most iconic dresses will be available. For example, a green dress created by Catherine Walker, that Diana wore in a photoshoot for Vogue. These dresses were up for auction since before her death. Diana wanted to sell them as a way for her to start a new chapter. She did not have the chance to hold the auction, as she passed away.
The exhibition will open this week, on the 24th.
