These days, Romania has been dealing with major protests, spread in several cities.
The protest is the biggest since the anti-Communist one that happened in 1989.
More than 300,000 people gathered across the country, while about 150,000 of them hit the streets of Bucharest.
The ruling party, that is the Social Democrat, approved an emergency law in secret after midnight.
The law targets to free all the prisoners that have been put behind bars for office abuse if the damage they have brought to the country’s economy is under 45,000 euro.
The level of corruption has increased and Romanians say they have had enough.
Andrew Rosu has come up with an innovative way to protest.
He moved his office outside, in the middle of Victoria Square. His improvised office went viral on the internet.
The protests throughout the country against the measures taken by the Government will continue.
Andrew came to the Government with a desk, a chair, his laptop, an internet modem and two handwritten posters.
‘Today’s program: 9-17: office; 17 – …: protesting’.
‘Staying at home is the first step towards dictatorship’.
People who passed him by congratulated him and stopped to shake his hand. Some even brought him some bagels.
‘My new office is a form of protest, but my presence here comes out of necessity. This is a kind of ultramarathon that will last for several days. I can not let my clients for 10 days without answers, so I preferred to bring my workstation here. Especially since today’s office can be wherever you have access to the internet and a laptop’, said the protester.
‘Each of us must continue to hit the streets, to march against the government, against the thieves’, he added.
