According to a university from Edinburgh, the children that are born first are more intelligent than their younger siblings.

The researchers conducted a test to see how these influences your IQ. The ones that are born first scored higher IQs.

Apparently, the parents stimulate mentally their children more in the first years.

The test featured 5,000 kids. They were going through testes every two years. The tests included vocabulary and reading skills. The tests were run since they were little until the age of fourteen.

The University of Sydney was also part of the research.

The scientist analyzed the results with their parents’ behavior. Because they were more involved and provided more support, the ones born first did better on the tests.

Their intelligence level changed as the years passed. The differences were more noticeable as the years flew by.

Parents provide emotional support in the same way for all of their children. The difference is made by the mental stimulation. With the ones born later, they don’t get involved in stimulating activities as much.

The parents also went through a change. Some are prone to smoking after their second child is born a lot more frequently.

Other studies say that the first-born kids are more ambitious and tend to have more success. Also, a lot of families usually provide a better education for the ones born first.

But first-borns can also have problems with their sight. According to scientists, twenty percent of them are prone to developing myopia.

In spite of these results, things could be much different in reality depending on the families.
