7% of American’s adult population is 100% convinced that chocolate milk comes from ‘brown cows’

Although you have never thought about the origin of chocolate milk or if the product comes from a certain breed of cow, it seems that a fairly large number of adults believe chocolate is actually produced by an unusual breed of brown cows.

Apparently, 7% of adults in America are firmly convinced that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, according to a study conducted by the U.S. Innovation Center of Dairy.

If you do the math, it turns out that 16.4 million people have a distorted view when it comes to this ‘dilemma’.

Although the study is conducted only based on the US population, it seems the number of people, globally speaking, who do not know that chocolate milk consists of milk, cocoa and sugar is much higher.

The analysis has attracted many disapproving reactions in America and some are actually surprised that the total percentage is not actually more consistent.

Throughout the years, there have been many studies on various topics on how things are done, and they have exposed us a shocking truth about a very large number of people who do not know basic things about the world they live in.

For example, a study conducted in the 1990’s concluded that 1 in 5 adults did not know that hamburgers were made from beef, and many others did not have elementary knowledge about animals, writes washingtonpost.com.

Experts believe that things have not changed over the past decades, perhaps due to a lack of education on nutrition and agriculture.

Obviously, those who live in rural areas or where the agriculture represents a lifestyle know more about food and its preparation process.

In a way, this confusion may seem perfectly normal, in a climate where we only consume processed products and we have no contact with animals or plants.
