The Dutch tourist died after she jumped from a bridge without being supported by safety ropes

Apparently, the woman misunderstood her instructor’s advice because he didn’t speak English very well.

The police files mention that 17-year-old Vera Mol jumped from the bridge without being tied with safety ropes because she misheard the instructor saying the word ‘Jump!’ when in reality the man was shouting ‘No jump!’.

Although the tragedy occurred two years ago, the unusual case is still under investigation and the police are mostly blaming the instructor for the teen’s death.

The accident occurred in Spain, in the Cantabria region. The young woman was tied to the harness but the rope was not fixed and the girl fell off the cliff.

In addition to the accusations that he did he was speaking English poorly clearly, the Spanish instructor is accused of not asking the young person for identification and allowing her to do bungee jumping, although she was not 18 years old, as required by the law.

Also, the bridge where the accident occurred should not be used for bungee jumping, prosecutors claim.
