The president could not accept the fact that Ivanka was the victim of a boycott and stepped in to take her defense.
Donald Trump wrote on Twitter what bothered him. He says that his daughter wasn’t treated fair. She is a great person and doing that to her is terrible.
He also adds that Ivanka always makes him do the right thing.
People are not happy about him commenting about it. This is not something that a president does.
Nordstrom immediately clapped back. After Trump tweeted, their sales increased that day. Apparently, it was their best day in a year.
Norm Eisen, who was once an ambassador, opened up about Trump. He thinks that he should part his private issues and the ones as a president. Posting that is for him an “abuse of the presidency.”
After he posted the tweet on his personal account, Trump also shared it on the official one.
After he was blasted by Eisen, Press Secretary Sean Spicer immediately took the president’s defense. When it comes to his family, Trump does not accept anyone to mess with them.
Spicer adds that Trump has every right to do what he did. They are his family and he needs to protect them.
The retailer dropped the First daughter’s line last week and was soon followed by a few others. There are more plans to boycott not only Ivanka’s brand, but also the businesses related to the Trump family.
Nordstrom said that their decision is entirely based on the performances. The brand was simply not selling off.
