Hotel Romantik Seehotel Jagerwirt – the most recent target of hackers

The group of cyber criminals used the room cards to initiate the attack.

The opulent retreat is situated on Turrach’s shore, in Austria is fighting against these criminals for almost a year.

According to the leading board, the hotel was, literally, frozen by a massive hacking that paralyzed their entire computer’s network.

The touristic season just started when the computers became paralyzed by the hackers. The staff was not able to offer its customer’s room cards because they couldn’t access the system.

“We were attacked twice in two months last summer”, declares the owner of the hotel Christina Bradstatter.

As reported by the CEO, the hackers threatened to publish valuable information regarding the financial status of their business if they don’t pay 2.000 euros.

After they paid, everything seemed back on the right path

 However, on 28^th January, they initiated another attack.

Unfortunately for them, the owner and the authorities ruined their plans.

They switched the entire computing system and installed hi-tech security services worth thousands of euros.

After she went public with the story, the CEO took advantage of the opportunity to spike a rumor.

“Some newspapers wrote 180 people became stuck in their rooms, but they lied”, added Christine.

Although she struggles to clean the reputation of the hotel, the news is already all over the internet.

Unfortunately for the owners, the system running on room cards is no longer available because it’s too vulnerable in front of these crooks.
