Kylie Minogue won the legal war against Kylie Jenner

Kylie Minogue has finally won her legal war against Kylie Jenner, or, more precisely, against the trademark for the name ‘Kylie’.

The scandal arose when Jenner wanted to name her cosmetics brand ‘Kylie’.

According to the international press, it seems that Kylie’s request, filled in 2014, to use her first name for a trademark, was rejected last week by the Office of the United States Patent and the Trademark Office.

The lawyers of the singer aged 48 years have claimed that the star from “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, aged 19 years, is just a television figure less important, secondary, making her unworthy of monopolizing the name “Kylie”.

At the same time, Minogue’s representatives have stressed that the Australian superstar is “a renowned artist, an activist fighting breast cancer, known worldwide for the name Kylie”.

Indeed, the Grammy winner was simply known as “Kylie” after the release of her debut, self-titled, in 1988.

According to the Daily Mail, Jenner – who has several businesses, including her beauty empire Kylie Cosmetics – has already filed a call.

In February 2016, Minogue took by assault the social media website Twitter after Jenner demanded that Kyle should be her trademarked name.

“Hello … My name KYLIE #lightyears”, wrote Minogue for her fans, quoting a verse from the song she launched in 2000 “Light Years”, from the album bearing the same name.

The victory od the singer against Jenner comes just days after she and former fiance, Joshua Sasse, announced they have broken their engagement.

The artist confirmed the separation on Instagram on Friday, February 3rd.
