Flying cars face numerous obstacles, such as costs, regulations and public acceptance.

Uber announced on Thursday the possibility of flying machines for the manufacture of commuters traveling on congested highways, according to CNN.

The company believes that in ten years they will be able to build a network of electric cars flying at an affordable price that will take off and land vertically and they will have a speed of 322 kilometers per hour. Uber does not intend to build their own flying machines, but wants to work with other companies, governments and communities.

Experts suggest, however, patience. ‘It’s great that we have these ideas, it forces us to start thinking differently. We will arrive at a time, at that level, almost as we saw in the cartoons. The reality, however, will not be as fast or as suggested by documents optimistic,’ says Ali Bahrami, vice president for civil aviation at the Aerospace Industries Association.

Uber is expecting flying cars to have initially pilots until an autonomous technology will develop enough to be safer than men.

Flying cars face numerous obstacles, such as costs, regulations and public acceptance. Also, it is unclear where they would land or if the ports are an advantageous option, Uber stating that parking on the roofs of garages, heliports and open spaces present at the intersections of highways It could be used for this purpose.

The plan is similar to the initiative reminiscent of the Executive Director of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, Elon Musk, the high-speed train Hyperloop, which, however, the contractor did not intend to develop.
