Pokemon Go, the best proposal of physical activity of the year in Finland

Association of spending time outdoors in Finland designated Pokemon Go as the best proposal for physical activity this year, according to the Finnish national broadcaster Yle, on Monday, quoted by Xinhua.


The association claims that Pokemon Go has achieved a huge success after the release of the game in Finland.


In practice, the game prompted hundreds of thousands of Finns to leave their houses. In order to capture virtual characters, people have to travel as far to the outside. The game brought together different generations of enthusiasts, not just children or adolescents, and their parents and other adults have loved the idea of heading outdoors to search for those virtual characters, according to the association.


The award was given to the Pokemon Go community in Finland, which raised over 25,000 players on Facebook who watched the game matters.


The Finnish Association annually awards a prize to an organization or a person who inspires the Finns to participate more actively in exercises, according to the station Yle.


Launched worldwide in July 2016 Pokemon Go was developed by the American company Niantic.


Pokémon Go is a mobile game which is free-to-play and is location-based augmented reality game that  Niantic developed and published by The Pokémon Company. It was launched in July 2016 for iOS and Android devices.


The game enables players to capture, fight, and train virtual creatures which are called Pokemon that appear on the screen in sizes just as like in the real world. It can be used for camera and GPS-compatible devices.
