They were named the most beautiful women in the world. But, besides the fancy world of the beauty pageants they also have a life of their own.

Although they it takes several hours for them to get ready before they appear in front of the cameras, these girls are also stunning without makeup.

Posting pictures without makeup became a literal trend on social media. Especially among the Miss Universe contestants.

These girls are trying to highlight the fact that women must feel confident and beautiful in their own skin no matter what.

A Miss Universe Organization spokesman explained the group intended to use ‘their global grassroots reach to empower women to be self-confident and strive to be their personal best’ according to the Daily Mail.

In the last year, several beauty queens posted ‘no makeup selfies’ on their Twitter pages, using the #ConfidentlyBeautiful hashtag.

Apparently, the main purpose of these selfies is to raise funds for cancer research. A total of 90 beauties will compete in 2017 at the large-scale event which will take place in Philippines, in January.
