The Malaysian civil plane which was shut down in July 2014 in the eastern separatist Ukraine was hit by an anti-aircraft missile type Buk brought from Russia in the conflict zone controlled by the pro-Russian rebels, is the conclusion of the investigation led by the international authorities in the Netherlands, country of origin of 193 of the 298 victims of the accident, according to the international media.

According to the report presented on Wednesday by the Dutch Public Prosecutor, after shooting down the plane, the antiaircraft system, consisting of four rockets, was transported back to Russia.

Families of the victims were first to find out on Wednesday morning the outcome of the investigation, in which the samples were examined on the spot, satellite images, various testimonies and data from the mobile phones.

The investigation was conducted by a team authorized by a UN resolution and composed of experts from the Dutch, Ukrainian, Malaysian, Austrians and Belgian countries. Samples collected will be presented before a court in the future. The Dutch Public Prosecutor has identified about a hundred people who could be involved in the attack on the plane.

Conclusions released on Wednesday confirm those of the preliminary report prepared by a team led throughout the Netherlands, stating that the Malaysia Airlines plane crash on July 17, 2014, in an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, was caused by its impact with a missile of the air defense system whose characteristics correspond with the Russian Buk. It also confirms the involvement of Russia in carrying and concealing that antiaircraft system.

This year in June a picture was published of a fragment of a Buk missile found in the area where the plane crashed. According to preliminary investigation, the rocket hit the left side of the plane and it disintegrated in the air.
