LaGuardia Airport was locked down late this Thursday after SUV which was supposed to be abandoned created chaos and confusion in the transit hub, said the authorities and witnesses.

Terminal B from the Queens Airport was evacuated partially and the traffic was diverted for almost two hours because of a black SUV that was dumped just outside the airport, a person being seen running away from the vehicle at about 11 p.m., said a law enforcement source.

The passengers said that the authorities from the terminal didn’t say anything about what was actually going on.

‘People didn’t know where to go and we were all stuck there for hours,’ said a 39 years old Mercedes Leon, who was coming back from her vacation in Fort Lauderdale.

‘We didn’t even know what was going on. People were just annoyed.’

Another person tweeted about seeing heavily armed men dressed in military garb making sure the area is secure.

‘Just landed at LGA and entire arrivals have been closed and there are soldiers with AR-15s everywhere,’ wrote Dan Chen.

“#LGA We drove through terminal B and saw an abandoned car. When we came back around no one was allowed in. All terminals are now blocked off,’ Arlin Geisnar tweeted.

A spokesman for the Port Authority said that the car was cleared without any incidents.

‘Complete s— show at LaGuardia,’ Michael Cohen tweeted at about 11:15 p.m. ‘Kicked everyone out of lower level because of the unattended vehicle. No info was given; literally, no way to leave.’

The last month, another two terminals from John F. Kennedy Airport have been evacuated after gunfire reports.
