The rocket hit the local market from Kilis, a small town from southeastern Turkey, located near the border with Syria.

According to the local media, the missile was launched from an area controlled by the Islamic State.

At least 10 people were severely wounded, reported the Kilis governor Ismail Catakli.

The governor claims all the victims are originally from Syria.

The Turkish government announced the artillery units shelled gun positions belonging to the jihadist group after the attack.

According to The Sun, five children were rushed to the local hospital, after the rocket destroyed a shop located in the heart of the market.

Numerous ambulances and police units rushed to the scene. Security forces also cordoned off the area and evacuated locals at the scene.

This is the first attack since Ankara-backed rebels cleared the area of jihadis earlier this month.

‘The entire world mourned for the terrorist attacks in France, but remains silent when people are killed in terrorist attacks in Turkey.’, added Catakli.

A large community of Syrians lives in Kilis after they flee the civil war between the Bashar Al-Assad government and the rebels.

Kilis has been targeted by Daesh terrorists with more than 50 rockets landing in the city between January and May, killing more than 20 people and injuring dozens.

The missile launched from Iraq caused major damages in the Canpolat Pasa bazaar area. A three-story building and a shop were destroyed.

Turkey’s army returned fire at Islamic State targets in Syria after a rocket hit the Turkish border town of Kilis, the military said in a statement on Thursday.
