A passenger train derailed and devastated a train station from New Jersey.

The incident took place on Thursday at the Hoboken terminal, near the administrative border with New York.

The passenger train derailed and the wagons were destroyed after they hit the platform packed with passengers.

The Hoboken Station is located in the New Jersey state, at about one kilometer from New York. The incident took place at 8:45 a.m.

According to the most recent report, almost 100 passengers were injured. The severity of their injuries is still unknown.

‘It was horrifying to see’, stated witness Alyson Hudson, who was riding on the Montclair-Boonton line.

The NJ Transit suspended their activity in and out of the station ‘due to a train accident’. The transit company failed to offer any further details about the crash.

‘Lucky to be alive .. we in the second car of the train that crashed in Hoboken’, wrote one of the passengers on social media.

The Hoboken Terminal serves an estimated 50,000 commuters each day with NJ Transit, PATH, light rail, buses, and ferries.

Shocking images posted by commuters on social media showed a train carriage, which smashed right through the station concourse destroying the roof, scattering causing the terminal’s devastation.

Injured passengers were seen sitting on the benches in full shock, while they waited for first responders.

The situation heavily impacted the traffic from the area. Especially, because it happened during a rush hour.
