The nuclear weapons program in Pakistan is coming under pressure and renewed scrutiny from Japan, the United States and other states that gave aid this week even if the nervous leaders of the country are showing off their atomic arsenal because they are afraid of a retribution from India because of the Uri terrorist attack.
It is said that the US asked Islamabad to cap its own program with nuclear weapons, which came from the Pakistani and as well from the US officials even with the country’s rising tensions with India and bad relations with some other SAARC countries.
While the United States officials have been circumspect to say that John Kerry, the Secretary of State, ‘stressed the need for restraint in nuclear weapons programs,’ the officials in Pakistan, who now know that Kerry urged Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister to “limit” the country’s nuclear program, stated ”it had been conveyed to the US Secretary of State that the proposals which were expected from Pakistan should also be implemented by India.”
‘Pakistan’s nuclear program cannot be limited,’ the media from Pakistan quoted the envoy of the country to Maleeha Lodhi from the Un said. ‘The world should first put an end to nuclear activities undertaken by India.’
The defiance from the Pakistani came even if the Defense Minister of the country, Khawaja, and other top generals have rattled their nuclear equipment in a show of bravery to warn off India’s retaliation for the terrorist attacks that the officials from New Delhi say are coming from Pakistan. The long debate about Pakistan was renewed using the nuclear cover to start terror strikes on India, pressure on the capital to call the bluff of Pakistan.
