A series of cybernetic attacks suggest that Russia is planning to ruin the presidential election, set to take place on November 8.
According to the American Congress, the secret services from Russia are making serious efforts to boycott the US elections, suggested the American senator Dianne Feinstein.
‘These methods are meant to generate doubts in people’s choices and to influence the presidential result. These are the only rational reasons in the Russians behavior’ added two of the members.
Dianne Feinstein and Adam Schiff did not point their fingers towards Russia, but a group of researchers discovered that these incidents are clearly conducted by their hackers.
Last week, the US Secretary of Internal Security Jeh Johnson said he trusts the safety and the integrity of the American electoral system, despite these attacks.
Feinstein and Schiff are both part of intelligence committees and they receive top secret information regularly.
They claim these attacks ‘can only come from senior members of the Russian government’ and required Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘to immediately stop these activities’.
The Department of Internal Security stated they are ‘ready to help the local officials in order to protect their electoral system’.
The United States were not the only target of the Russian hackers. Back in 2015, the servers from the German parliament was compromised by these cyber criminals.
The cyber attacks on voter registration systems in Arizona and Illinois late last month were also blamed by some anonymous officials on Russia. Russia has denied it sponsors or encourages any hacking activity.
