Yahoo will confirm the rumors regarding the massive data leak this week. The news was released by hi-tech giant Redcode, citing several other sources familiar with the situation.

According to Redcode, the data leak exposed hundreds of millions of user accounts.

Verizon Communications bought Yahoo, including the Yahoo Search and Yahoo Mail divisions, in July for $4, 83 billion dollars.

Yahoo representatives have not yet commented on the allegations.

One of the largest email services in the world was hacked by a hacker named Peace. The cyber criminal managed to access hundreds of million accounts of the network and threatens to publish details about them.

Last summer, Yahoo admitted that 200 million Yahoo! Accounts were accessed and sold online by the hacker.

The American authorities are investigating the problem and Peace will suffer the consequences. Allegedly, Peace had a team of accomplices.

‘The hack was noticed in August when a cyber criminal known as Peace wrote on a website he is selling logging data for more than 200 million Yahoo users. The information is from accounts registered in 2012 and the starting price was $1,800. The logging data includes names, decrypted passwords personal information and birth dates.’, revealed a source inside.

If Yahoo confirms the news, this represents the biggest hack of its kind in the Yahoo history. If you own a Yahoo account, it will be ideal to change your password like… now. If you’re using the same Yahoo username and password combination anywhere else, change those as well.
