The Russian leader and his Turkish counterpart will have a one-on-one meeting on October 10.

Besides the official meeting, the two state leaders will attend the World Energy Congress, revealed Kremlin adviser Yuri Ouchakov.

‘The visit will take place on October 10’ said Yuri, adding that Putin ‘will attend the World Energy Congress and will have a bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan’.

Although Turkey and Russia referred to each other as ‘strategic partners’, the relations between the two Black Sea neighbors became strained since the beginning of the Syrian Civil War.

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip haven’t seen each other since August when they reunited to restore the ties between Moscow and Ankara.

Russia provides more than half of Turkey’s natural gas imports. The Russian nuclear energy monopoly Rosatom received a propose to build their first nuclear station in Turkey.

According to the Kremlin adviser, for the official meeting, the Russian President will travel to Istanbul.

The relation between Russia and Turkey went through a rough crisis when the Turkish aviation took down a Russian combat aircraft at the Syrian border in November 2015.

Although the crisis seems forgotten by both parts, the two countries must reach a consensus regarding the crisis from Syria considering the fact they are supporting different camps. Following this incident, Russia imposed a set of economic sanctions on the Turkish Government, especially in the tourism sector.

In July, the two state leaders started an unexpected reconciliation and Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid Putin a visit to St. Petersburg on August 10.
