After the violent hurricane reached all the way to Haiti, where it killed three people, on Wednesday took the lives of the adults and one child in the Dominican Republic.

The category 4 Saffir-Simpson hurricane reached all the way in eastern Cuba, where according to the US National Hurricane Center it destroyed everything in its way.

Matthew is heading towards the Americas and it will probably reach the coast on Wednesday. In South Carolina, the US Governor Nikki Haley evacuated almost all residents to a secured area, 150 kilometers away from the shore.

According to the US media, the natural disaster will affect around one million people.

Following the news regarding Matthew’s trajectory, President Barack Obama canceled his participation at the Democratic Party Presidential Rally, where he was supposed to support Hillary Clinton.

According to experts, Matthew is the most powerful hurricane formed in the Atlantic since Felix, which caused more than 130 deaths in 2007, after he passed through Nicaragua.

The authorities are extremely concerned about the people from southern Haiti, who are still living in improvised tents.

The violent rains will cause a massive flooding, which will affect the sewerage and the drinking water network.

According to researchers, this will only cause an exacerbation of the cholera epidemic, already present in Haiti.

The Cuban President Raul Castro ordered on Tuesday the evacuation of 250,000 residents from the Granma island.
